Patients in urgent medical situations or need specialist care may be referred to a hospital.
A “No Show” is someone who miss an appointment without calling to cancel or reschedule their appointment. This also includes patients who are not present within 15 minutes of their appointment time.
Patients who are marked with a “No Show” appointment will be asked to reschedule. If there is an urgent need patient may ask to see a triage nurse for evaluation.
DKU Health Services administrators will make every effort to notify the community in advance of any changes in operational hours or services offered.
The late patient is first offered the opportunity to re-schedule his/her appointment if no provider is available. If the patient accepts, a new appointment will be made for the patient.
If the patient wants to be seen, the nurse or an appropriate substitute will offer a later appointment to the patient, so there will be a delay.
